I wrote the music for this album during my last few months in Beirut - in what I now recognize as the darkest period, to put it gently. I think a frail shadow of me miraculously wrote it, because that's all I was then. In a lot of sense this album saved my life by narrowly keeping me with - and giving me - a voice when I barely felt visible.

After settling down in Paris, the water cleared and I wrote all the lyrics and recorded all the vocal lines in reflection to the abyss I left behind. A BRIEF EMOTIONAL DRAGON is my survival statement and my autobiography in all its abstraction.

The album's music is inspired by Japanese Synth, Country music, Free Jazz, Scott walker, Bruce Lee, and Western Film Scores.
