Following up Kid Fourteen’s second album Blood-thick silence, his single is an industrial-tinged rallying cry against the reality of masculinity.
“Even though we've come a long way defying toxic masculinity,” says Khodor, “it seems that most people from different circles (whether social or personal) still prefer to deal with, and accept, the strength and power of an individual male, rather than his vulnerability and weaknesses.”

Kid Fourteen’s last album was a collection of tales covering pleasure, love, spite, intoxication and loneliness masked in hazy euphoria. Whereas that album was impure delirium, Everybody wants a strong man is a direct statement of searing intent.

Whilst the influence of Suicide is undeniable, there are parallels with the darker moments of Depeche Mode and industrial pioneers Nine Inch Nails. Khodor’s tortured vocal bursts again stitch the track together, with his indictment of toxic masculinity.
